WOYWW 412 - Inktense blocks and postcards

Morning/afternoon/evening to you all.  It is Wednesday again (I thought it was Thursday first thing and nearly put the rubbish out!) and I am joining in with Julia's WOYWW (What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday).  Check out more details HERE.

I am still making postcards.  Ten needed for the Spring Swap I joined in with.  They need to be posted this week, and I am just finishing off the last two.  My excuse is that I only found out about the swap a few weeks ago.  For the next one (in the autumn) I will have them ready before the deadline.

I am completely lacking in any imagination right now, so have relied on a combination of collage/doodling/abstract art so far.  For these final ones I have got out my tin of Derwent Inktense Blocks - and who knows where it will take me!

At least the blue is a pretty colour!

Hubby is 50 tomorrow and we are off to a country hotel in Carmarthenshire for dinner/b&b.  Dog going into the kennels and I am really looking forward to some time away from animal care duties/housework/the farm.

I have another blog post to write now, along with the promised one on CBD, I had a free box from HelloFresh yesterday (courtesy of a Facebook friend) - one of those companies that send out all the ingredients needed for specific meals along with recipes.  Very impressed so far - made Mexican Chilli Broth last night.  Photos will be on Instagram (@iamaliwade) later, and I will eventually get a blog post written.

  1. Well, look forward to reading about Hello Fresh...I'm not on instagram and keep feeling a pull......! Are you enjoying the postcards, bet you are, lots of different techniques and colours, lovely. I'm starting to panic a bit about ATCs just for the Anniversary of WOYWW. Have a fabulous night away, a rare treat for you both.

    1. Get on Instagram! I think it is my favourite form of social media. Yes, enjoying making postcards - but wish I wasn't so rushed to get them all made. We got home from our 30 hours away and straight back to sorting out animals/cooking a meal etc. It was a lovely hotel that we stayed in, and ate far too much!

  2. Hope you had a great night out with your hubby.
Yes, re Life Book...I thought I was being a bit "picky", but I am thinking the classes are a bit repetitive too.
Cats sure know how to be comfortable don't they? Our girl is getting older, and seems to have slowed down a lot this year. That's good because she likes cuddles more often now- esp with the weather turning cooler for our Autumn.Sometimes, once you get the backgrounds done, inspiration comes.I find that. Some days I just do backgrounds and then next day get all fired up!
Have a great rest of the week.

    1. Those two postcards are still sitting in exactly the same position as on Wednesday morning! I will get them done tomorrow - thinking of some lettering.

  3. I love your tin of Inktense blocks - I have one or two that I've purchased individually, it probably doesn't work out cheaper that way but it's less painful on the budget!! I love working with them, they are such good quality.
I hope you have a lovely time away, and I hope your hubby has a great birthday.
    Thanks for stopping by earlier,

    1. I bought that set in a sale - think it was at least 50% off. It is great to have a full set.

  9. I was so disappointed when I had Hello Fresh - the box was late as it was a Bank Holiday Monday, and when the box arrived on Tuesday, the 'fresh' ingredients were wilted and not good at all :( Hope your experience turns out better than mine!
The blue is very pretty - and the 'journey' text stamp looks great too :)

    Have a Wonderful Wednesday

    1. That is a shame about Hello Fresh. I had an email showing amended delivery dates due to the bank holiday. Only had that one trial box so far, and it was all really fresh. Hoping my 2nd box next week is as good. If you want to try another free box, get in touch, as I had an email offering 4 free ones to friends. Yes, that journey stamp is great - got it as a freebie with an order from PaperArtsy.

    1. Yes, we got to Llandeilo. Just a quick walk around looking in shop windows (plus going in an art gallery where I wanted to buy several pictures) and a visit to a coffee shop. Saw the GinHaus and it is almost opposite the wool shop! Will be in touch soon to arrange our meet-up.

  11. Now I'm feeling guilty. I bought some of these ages ago and just have never got round to using them. I'm going to have to watch what you get up to and hope it encourages me to do something Lol! Have a great belated woyww, Angela x7x

If you would like to try a free box from HelloFresh, let me know. I can send them email addresses of 4 friends for them to get the same offer that I had.
