WOYWW 407 - a jumble of washi tape

Happy WOYWW.  I am up early this morning (well, early for me - I have been sleeping more recently) with leg pain, and really lacking inspiration for taking a photo of my rather neglected craft room.  So, one of my Ikea Raskog trollies with two baskets of washi tape on top caught my eye.  Wasn't sure what you called a group of washi tape, but jumble seemed appropriate!

My big craft room clearout continues, and I am giving 2 bags of CD-Roms and a lot of paper/card to a local charity group tomorrow.  It is ridiculous how much money I have spent on stash over the past 9 years - and so much I will never use.  Our crafting habits change over time, and now I am not making many cards - and definitely not printing toppers from CDs or using the old die-cut sheets (that they still seem to sell on the TV).  I have enough digital images on my computer to keep me going for life anyway!

I have done some crafting this week - two ATCs and a postcard (all for swaps) - but I must get back into actually doing some of the LifeBook 2017 lessons.  I download the videos on a Monday and then the week just disappears!

  2. Oh dear, sounds a bit like my craft room, could craft until I am 200+ with the stuff I have. So much money, a small fortune. And yet we are tempted to buy more.
Like you say, tastes change and I now find myself into painting more than inking. Oh heck, I feel depressed now. I need to join you in a purge.

  3. I think we ALL have piles of stuff we don't use but can't bear to be parted from - I don't "get" washi tape so only have three rolls of the stuff though .. now, ink pads, patterned papers, etc

  4. Morning Ali - no I don't know the collective word for Washi tape either - but jumble sounds rather homely. I like it. How do the weeks go so quickly??? Just no answer, is there? Thanks for already visiting.
    Take care. God bless.

  5. I think you're brilliant giving away the stash you'll never use - so much better that someone else has it rather than being stuck in a box. I've done that too and have felt much better afterwards. I don't seem to want to make much at the moment either and as for the weeks slipping away..mine too!

  6. What you wrote seems depressingly familiar. I don't even own a colour printer any more, yet I have a whole shelf of crafting CDs. I really should have a clear out too. How about a wealth of washi tape? Sarah #26

  7. Hi Ali, I so totally agree with you. I have already cleared out so much stuff I bought when I started out, then as you say, tastes change over time. I still have stuff I know I will end up donating somewhere. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxXx

  8. Lots of washi tape there! Tastes do change over the year. I'm trying to be more selective in what I buy and not buy what I already have a lot of. Part of my goal this year was to use up some of what I have. I think we do all need a good sort out now and them. At least you know somebody else will be able to enjoy what you no longer do.

  9. Lovely jumble, Ali! Be careful what you give away! I did that too and sometimes I miss what I got rid of. At the time I thought, I will never use this or that again - but then you find a technique that you would need just that tool or material! I had to buy stuff again after giving them away! On the other hand it's nice to declutter, but be 100% sure you won't be needing the things you're giving away. Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #22

  10. I know exactly what you mean about buying so much stash - the only thing that curbs me now is the storage space, it's getting harder and harder to find anywhere to put it! Good for you having a big clear out - it's a great feeling once it's done!
Hope you have a good week,

  11. Love your new ethic, and may I suggest for the collective noun - a tangle of tapes? Dx @43

  12. Sorry to hear about your chronic pain, how on earth do you cope? I am finding it so debilitating and it is stopping a lot of my crafting.

  13. Jumble indeed, very appropriate word. I don't do Washi tape much so don't have that problem, but I have jumbles of other things. Have fun with your sorting and reducing the volume of stash, never ending job.
Thanks for dropping by my desk, and your nice comments.

  14. Oh yes! I just know how you feel about old stash. I have a collection of CDs/DVDs that are quietly gathering dust because, like you, I've moved on. Jumble seems as good a word as any for your fabulous collection of washi tape. Hope you get to the end of your sort out soon. Elizabeth x #30

  15. Going through your craft stash will feel so good once you're done. I just did mine and was amazed at how much I felt could be tossed/donated. And I still have a lot.
