WOYWW 294

A very quick blog post, as I should be making/eating lunch/sorting out laundry/turning out ponies etc, etc!

We all join in on Wednesdays to share details of our workdesk/crafting projects.  Go to Stamping Ground for more details.

I am not spending so much time in my craft room at the moment, as it is not the warmest room in the house, so my photo today is of my latest addiction - needle felting.

I bought a kit to make a Xmas present for my mum (she loves dachshunds), but never got round to starting it until this week.  Now I see what all the fuss is about!  Really enjoying the process - and already planning my next projects, including doing some of my own designs.  It is very good for making me rest and distracting me from my pain.

I am making his tail now, and then it is the ears/feet/face to finish.

The only thing I have new on my craft desk is my washi tape storage solution - a wire basket I found in a local shop.

Hope that everyone is ok.  I will find some time later on to have a tour around other workdesks.  It is good that I am so busy, but there really aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done.

  3. Needle felting...so that is what that is called. I have never tried it and it looks fun. My mom has 2 dashounds although they are the long hair versions (very bratty dogs) Happy WOYWW! Shel#71

  9. I like your dog, and the washi tape basket. I wish my craft room was warm, it's the coldest room in the house.thanks for our earlier visit to me.

  10. I've never done that before, but you are doing an amazing job!! So cute and lifelike! I'm sure she'll love it when you're finished. I've been dealing with chronic pain too, so I understand how you feel. Doing a little bit of any kind of crafting is good for the soul when your body isn't cooperating. Hugs!!

    Happy Crafting!

  12. That felting is fab! I've got a kit that someone gave me - it's a hare - and I've just realised that I'd forgotten all about it. I'm going to try and find it after seeing your's and give it a go! A friend had a wire haired dachshund called Norris - he was the most funky, friendly little dog. Everyone loved him!

  13. really cute!! Dachshunds are so cute and friendly! I was given a felting kit and haven't ever started it. I don't know why...just haven't but may have the pull it out and give it a try! Hope your Fibro is doing better. The wet and cold have been working together to drive me nuts. I don't know why at 62 I have to be plagued with this! I hope you have a great week and thanks for visiting my blog earlier. Vickie #31

  14. We did needle felting as part of the felt-making course I did in the autumn. I am not so much into making 3-D animals with it, but like to combine it with wet felting, to add detail, and it is also very useful for attaching pieces together. Felt is so amazing - so sculptural, and also very painterly! I haven't done any since the course but would love to get back into it.

Thanks for your lovely WOYWW comment on my blog, and I'm glad you like my new RUBs! I'm a bit of a RUB addict - they are absolutely brilliant for storage! I haven't got all the ones I want yet, but will gradually collect them as the pennies are available. I'm glad you like my embroidery too! It's nice having it to do in the sitting room in front of the TV. Like you, my ARTHaven isn't the warmest room in the house and at the moment I am feeling so exhausted that I don't relish sitting up at the work desk, and my mojo had departed for now, so the embroidery is filling the gap nicely. I am sure this is all a reaction to the stress of the last week, and hopefully things will get back to normal on the creative front before too long.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  15. Oh, he turned out so well. I've had a go at needle felting before, but only flattish shapes, like flowers. I thought it would be good to do in front of the TV, but the needle ended up in my finger as often as the fibres! Thanks for stopping by already. I'm very late this week.

  16. Seems that being #1 this week would get me here earlier, but sadly, I'm running far behind. That's going to be one lovely pooch. And I simply ADORE the washi tape storage you have created. It is wonderful. Wish I had that many tapes (grin)

Happy very belated WOYWW and thanks for the earlier visit.
