A Late Valentines

Whilst shopping for digistamps this morning, I found a fabulous site Sweetpea Stamps (which has rubber stamps as well).  Four gorgeous digistamps fell into my basket (it is so easy to knock them off the shelves, as they are so much lighter than rubber!) - and I also followed their link to their challenge blog, One Sweet Challenge.

Their theme this month is Valentine.  I used my trusty Serif Craft Artist Professional 2 software and various digikits, plus an image from
Digistamp Dreams on Facebook (lots of free toppers), which I created the card background with.

A slightly more 'alternative' card, which would appeal to many.

WOYWW 195 (with Candy)

I am not prepared for this Wednesday morning when we do our regular link up with crafters around the world and show off our workdesks.  Stamping Ground is the blog that you need to click on and add your link to the list.

No photo taken of anything interesting happening in my craft room.  I have done some shopping this week - another new CD-ROM (the Linda Ravenscroft 'Fairy Gemstones'), a sweet 6x6 paper pad and some fabric button brads from Wilkinsons (only went in for some more dolly pegs to finish sorting out my ribbons and came out with a large bag full - why does that always happen in that shop??) and a cross stitching magazine - but I have been sort of organised and already put all that away.

I resorted to taking a photo of my cross stitching (some progress made, but not as much as I wanted - had a busy week sorting out the farmhouse renovation and meeting with the bank manager yesterday) and the Linda Ravenscroft CD-Rom.

I promise to take some more interesting piccies next week!!
Ria, unfortunately, is unable to go to the NEC, so I redrew and Lisa from ' Lisa Sparkle and Stamps' is the lucky winner.
[The random generator drew out No.13 for last week's Blog Candy - a pair of tickets to the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC next month.
That person is Ria Gall.  Get in touch with your address, Ria, and I will post the tickets onto you.]
The Blog Candy for this week is a set of Toreads Rubber Stamps: Xeru, Buddles and Aurora.
Really cute images.  As usual, for my Candy, just leave a comment and you will be in the draw next Tuesday night.
Rubbish photo - light in the craft room at 6 am is not good!
Happy WOYWW to everyone that I do not manage to visit.

Feel the Love

I am very happy to be joining in with the House of Bears Literary Challenge again.  Their theme for February is Love.  So many different directions I could have taken, but I kept coming back to my favourite book, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

Some may say that this is not what springs to mind when they think of love, but I don't think that I am the only teenager who dreamed of her own Mr Rochester.  Thankfully, I found mine (eventually!).  Hope you did too.

I used Serif Craft Artist Professional - and various digikits, plus quotes from the book, to make up a double-sided page for the mini book I will create at the end of the year.

Back Page

You have until the end of the month to enter.  I, for one, am really enjoying these challenges and looking forward to next month already.

My 3 Favourite Creations

As part of the DT Call for the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog, I have to create a blog post showing my 3 favourite creations.  Difficult!  Especially as so many of my photos are still on my old computer.  It was quicker in the end to go through my blog posts and save my favourite pictures from there.

Well, here goes.

I really enjoy Iris Folding and don't do enough of it.

I loved this card.  The rooster image is fab, and all the tearing
is one of my favourite techniques.  I made the 'washi tape' myself - stamping
onto surgical tape.  The embossed card is gorgeous.  I do miss
embossing (note to self - must get another embossing machine).

This was the Xmas card I made for my mum.  The topper was
'vintaged' by wetting/inking the edges.  The strip of paper behind
(from a Hot Off the Press kit) and the date topper (a digistamp) really
made the card complete.
What would you choose if you had to select your 3 favourite creations?
The next part is for the current DT team @ Delicious Doodles to read - and decide whether they want a crazy Farmer's Wife to join them!
I am 42, have been crafting seriously since 1995 when I discovered cross stitching.  Papercrafting caught my eye (through magazines) in 2004.  I actually gave it up for a while (selling my stash to a lady who ran some craft shops - and later I went onto work for her) whilst being busy running an online cross stitch shop and 2 market stalls.  However, you couldn't keep me away for ever and now I am truly addicted.  I still cross stitch - just starting to work on my own designs - but digital crafting, in particular, has really taken over my life.  I love to blog (my personal blog has been running for just over a year - and just started a separate 'business' one - and enter challenges.
Delicious Doodles is one of my favourite source of digistamps.  I have a few in my collection waiting to be coloured in.
I have just joined the DT for Ladybug Crafts, which is a monthly commitment, and definitely would love to join your DT as well.

Do One Thing That Makes You Happy Each Day

This is the sentiment on the pretty card I created yesterday for a card swap group on Facebook.

The sentiment topper, background paper and insert all came from MCS and their latest Inserts & Backgrounds CD-Rom (which is brilliant - I don't think any crafter should be without it!).

I made the base card out of 300 gsm cream card, and the green mat under the topper and the gems are from stash.

Spring is in the Air

I haven't been entering many challenges recently and it is a pleasure to be back with one of my favourite challenge blogs, CD Sunday.

Their theme this week is Spring is in the Air.

I used a background and sentiment from the 'MyCraft Studio Elite Only Way is Words and Inserts & Backgrounds' CDs.  (These are absolutely brilliant.  The content of their CD-Roms is always wonderful, and the software is a joy to use.)
This was printed onto smooth decoupage paper, and I added 2 sweet birds cut from a paper pad, embossed flowers/leaf from Craftwork Cards (inked with dove grey), gems from stash and then stamped/drew some leaves/blossom on the tree to make it more spring-like.
It is mounted onto dark green textured card.

A fab digi store

Just found this really great store full of digistamps, papers etc.  Includes a good selection of Freebies.

My Grafico

I have bookmarked it for future visits.

Random Colouring In

I bought a fab CD-Rom from Ebay for a bargain 99p, and this was one of the sheet of digistamps on it.  I originally started to colour them in, so I could cut them out to use individually on cards - but then I realised that it made a nice background as a whole.

I dusted down a selection of pencils, glitter pens and Marvy Le Plume pens, and got to work whilst watching Lindsay's latest film of her amazing craft basement - The Frugal Crafter - which is why I stopped buying crafty stash and now concentrating on mainly digital crafting.  Otherwise, that would be my craft room - and we would be bankrupt!!

The Farmhouse Renovation

A lot has been happening in the past week and I have just published a new post over on the Farmhouse Blog.

Take a look.  It includes a picture of a very rough and raw craft room!!

Lots of Progress

Wednesday, 20 February 2013

This will be a short and sweet post, as I really need to get on and make a card for a challenge, which also needs to go in the post today.  I work better under pressure, so this is the only way that the card will be made before I need to get away from the craft room and feed dogs/myself/ponies/guinea pig/cats !!

WOYWW stands for 'What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday' (click on the link for further details and the chance to add your workspace to the list), so today I am literally showing the pile of CD-Roms/Digikits that I have purchased recently (more still to come in the post, and others have been downloaded directly from the internet).  It shows the wide range of digital images that I have in my collection - I am certainly not restricted to one style.  There is also a cross stitch design CD in the pile, which I am so looking forward to playing with and designing my own charts.  Get in touch if you would like something converted into a chart - whether a photo or a design idea - I may even find the time to stitch it for you?!

Going back in time - I picked the 2 winners of my Birthday/First Bloggeversary Blog Candy on Friday - see HERE for the 2 lucky crafters (BJ & Marit).  Please can they email me their snail mail addresses, so I can post off the prizes and clear another part of my craft room floor!

I have more Blog Candy for this week.  This is tickets for the Hobbycraft show at the NEC from 21-24 March.  If you would like to go in the random draw (winners to be drawn next Tuesday 26th February - and announced in my WOYWW post next week), then just leave a comment on this post.  Good luck!

Well, that is enough for now.  Happy WOYWW to all those that I am not able to leave a comment for (new computer is still often preventing me from full access to blogs).

Blog Name Change

I have finally decided to take the plunge and set up a separate blog for TeddyBob Crafts.  I have had lots of business ideas floating around in my head for a while, and thought it would be clearer for me (and you!) if I kept this blog as a personal one.  It is for entering challenges, my DT 'work', WOYWW posts and other general updates on my life.

Thank you for continuing to read my ramblings and leave such wonderful comments.

WOYWW 193 (with candy)

Happy Birthday to Me, Happy Birthday to Me ...........

Yes, I am 42 today.  Now that does sound grown up, but of course I am not!!

I will now explain the title of this post to those who are as confused as I am.

WOYWW (click on this for access to a list of crafters' workspaces and a lot of new friends)

Candy (I am giving away a nice parcel of goodies to a random commenter on the post in the link)

AND - I also have some Candy for a random commenter on THIS post !!!!  This is what you could win.  A fab book - loads of inspiration.

This is all to celebrate my First Bloggeversary (spelt differently every time), which is on Saturday the 16th, as well as my Birthday today.

Back to WOYWW, my desks are looking a tad boring this rainy/cold morning (I dream of typing about sunshine and blue skies), so I took a photo on my trusty mobile phone (note to self - must start using the very good camera that sits in the house unused) of the fantastic cross stitched cushions that I have received over the years as part of Forum Swaps.  Sorry, I cannot remember who sent them to me - it has been years since I have participated in a cross stitching forum.  Perhaps I will find a few spare seconds to start again, as they were always so friendly and fun.  I am stitching again - even bought 2 mini kits from a wonderful store on Ebay this week (one to stitch for hubby's birthday, and another of a Golden Retriever to stitch for my relatives in America, who adore their dog - he is their 3rd child !!).
(The cuddly cow peeking out is Moo - a much loved member of our family, who used to live on our bed until I started talking to him all the time.  He is now living in the basket with lots of friends!)

I must also apologise to all those who commented on my WOYWW post last week and did not receive a comment from me in return.  My health took a turn for the worse (blasted IBS this time - I now have a new diet to try out) and I took to the sofa whenever I could, and I cannot reach my pc from there!  I did visit lots of your blogs when I could - and you are all wonderful.  There - I hope you feel loved now.
Happy WOYWW to everyone.

ps  Come back next week for more Blog Candy - this time, it will be pairs of tickets to the Hobbycraft Show at the NEC in March.

Nearly my First Blogeversary

It only seems like yesterday since I tentatively typed my very first post on 16th February 2012.

Since then I have gained 56 Followers, typed 169 posts and can't imagine life without my blogs.

As a joint celebration (it is also my 42nd birthday tomorrow), I am offering some Blog Candy to a random commenter on this post.

You don't need to follow me (I would rather have Followers who are genuinely interested in my blog, not just adding me to their reading list in order to enter the draw!), put anything on your blog or dance naked around a tree at midnight!!  Just leave a comment and I will do a random draw on the 16th, which is Saturday.

I will add further details of what the Blog Candy will include - but it will be a very nice parcel for someone to receive (I love sending out Happy Mail).

ETA - The Blog Candy will include a Chipboard Mini Book, a Stretched Burlap Canvas Frame, Pack of Mini Cardboard Tiles, Chipboard Star & Hearts, Xmas Mini Clay Cutters, Creative Paperclay, Assorted Embellies and some Stamps - plus perhaps a few other items!

Good luck - wish I could send everyone some Candy.

Paddington Bear - Wintertime

Here I go, with my 2nd Christmas card of the year!

I enter this into -

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge - #110, Anything Beginning with P

Christmas at Sweet Stampin - #2, Cold and Frosty

Christmas Stampin All Year Long - #1, Anything Goes

I had fun using Serif Craft Artist 2 and my Create & Craft Design Suite Paddington Bear CD-Roms.  So quick and easy to create a card - and so much choice of backgrounds, embellishments etc, etc.

I design a complete card, so there is a sentiment inside and
a Paddington Bear logo on the back.

Wednesday, 6 February 2013

Another Wednesday is here.  It may be dark, very windy and cold here in Pembrokeshire at 5.33 am, but my heart is warm at the thought of visiting so many wonderful crafty workspaces today (I give you permission to throw up now!).  Pop over to see Julia @ at her truly amazing blog, Stamping Ground, and she will enable you to add your blog post to the ever growing list of addicted WOYWWers.

Firstly, I finally sorted out what crafty stash I had to sell.  See this blog post for a list of what is still available.

Secondly, I have 4 photos to show you today.

In order to keep it brief, here they are (BTW - I managed to achieve multiple image uploading - never attempted before and still feeling slightly dizzy after it worked first time) -

A not-often seen view of my craft room, showing
that it is not as tidy as may appear in my other WOYWW photos

A close up showing the Parchment magazine that slipped into
my shopping bag this week (I have had a very long secret wish to 'get into' parchment
after working in a shop that stocked Pergamano goodies and watching demo's), some
old-fashioned wooden dolly pegs (a more attractive way of storing ribbon),
some fabric that I found in the bargain bin of our local haberdashery shop, a card
received yesterday as part of a Facebook group swap - and a bag of sweets
(could never resist those classics).

How did that get there?  It is my old and trusty cross stitching
bag - well travelled since 1994.  Must mean that my
'stitchy bug' is back - after an absence of many months.

This is what I am STILL stitching after about a year.
Did the flowers and leaves under 'Yesterday' last night.

Sunday, 3 February 2013

The arrival of spring

I did this design this morning, using Serif Craft Artist 2 and various digikits.  (ETA - the actual card has been embellished with some glitter and buttons.  I love this design and will be using it as the start of a range of cards - which I will make into notelet sets.)

It is the front of a card for a penpal, and thought I would share it with you all to make us feel a bit more positive about the end of winter.  Yes, I know it is only the beginning of February, but I have had enough of winter now!  There are primroses on the hedge by the farmhouse, and daffodils are attempting to appear.

Next week will be colder in the UK - with some snow for some areas - but days are getting longer and there is hope!

My First Xmas Card of 2013!!

I was going to store my Xmas stash box away until the late summer, but then it was still sitting on the floor near my chair, and Hazel over at her challenge blog Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge kept tempting me with fun themes.

So, here I am - 1st February and made my first Xmas card.  Perhaps I should keep it quiet, as people think I am mad anyway.

The theme for this week is Nativity, so I raided my box and laid out all the relevant toppers (got loads of Hunkydory & Kanban kits bought over the  years, and use a bit from each every year - they seem to go on forever).  I could have made about 4 cards, but that really is too much at this time of day.

I selected a more modern design, found some papers to use as layers, and a piece of coordinating ribbon.  Nothing fancy, but lovely colours and the main image is really cute.

I also enter this into -
