WOYWW 201

I was MIA last week, due to rushing about getting the caravan/house/animals ready for our weekend away.  Why does 2 nights away involve so much work, both before leaving and when we get back?!

We did enjoy our time away though, with some fab walks in beautiful countryside - puts Pembrokeshire to shame.  I saw a beautiful cottage with some land for sale right up in the mountains - but actually only a few miles from the nearest village - would buy it if I won the Lottery!  I was proud of myself - managed a long and strenuous walk in a forestry area, and then a tour of the Gold Mine that we were staying at.  This involved some very steep steps and the actual underground part (and I can get claustrophobic).  They did have to get a spare guide to come and escort me out, as the rest of the group were going out via a very difficult set of ladders and steep walkways.  I knew my body would not be able to cope with that.

If anyone is visiting Carmarthenshire, here is the link to the mine -

Dolaucothi Gold Mines

We stayed in the caravan site, which is literally just across the road - and is very peaceful and friendly.

When we returned, I then had the double job of unpacking the caravan, catching up with washing etc - and getting the house ready for guests.  My husbands 'kids' (who are 20 and 22 now) and their partners, so I had both spare rooms to clear out and make beds up, and make the rest of the house a bit more presentable.  Oh well, at least I was left with a clean house after they left yesterday - and I spent some enjoyable time in my craft room finally.

This is my desk this morning.  A sweet shaped card made from designs printed off from the new Crafters Companion Frou Frou CD-Rom - which is wonderful, and well worth getting, as well as the digikits.  You can also see a New Home card waiting to be folded and the insert added.  I designed this using my Serif Craft Artist 2 Professional software and various digikits.

I am busy with swaps over at Swap Bot again, so today will be spent making notecards and a Horse ATC for 3 of the 7 swaps I am signed up for at the moment.

Another piccie showing the hedge in front of the farmhouse and some lovely spring flowers.

Happy WOYWW to all those that I do not manage to leave a comment for.

  1. Like the New Home card but most of all the SPRING flowers, as we are always later here in the South East, there is hope yet. Gold Mine sounds very scary to me, well done and 2 spare rooms, we don't even have one - LOL BJ#20

  3. Happy Wednesday, I hope you are having, or going to have, or have already had a great day (dependent on where exactly in the world you are!)
Glad you had a good break, and I agree, one nice thing about visitors is that when they leave you have a nice tidy house for a bit!

  4. How nice to see pretty spring flowers at last!! You are right though - I think a short break takes as long if not longer to sort for than a longer one... but glad you had a great time. Helen, 8

  6. Sounds like you had a lovely time on your trip! I simply cannot, and will not, go into caves, etc. I am very claustrophobic and would surely have a panic attack!!!! Lovely spring flowers....still waiting on spring to arrive over here!

    Happy Crafting!

  14. Sounds like you have had a very busy week indeed! I always say that I will buy this or that when I win the lottery but...I have never bought a ticket. Guess I had better start there! Sorry I have been absent the past couple weeks but life has taken its toll and sometimes you just have to give in to it and go with the flow! Thanks for sharing and have a great week! Vickie #58
