WOYWW 192

Another Wednesday is here.  It may be dark, very windy and cold here in Pembrokeshire at 5.33 am, but my heart is warm at the thought of visiting so many wonderful crafty workspaces today (I give you permission to throw up now!).  Pop over to see Julia @ at her truly amazing blog, Stamping Ground, and she will enable you to add your blog post to the ever growing list of addicted WOYWWers.

Firstly, I finally sorted out what crafty stash I had to sell.  See this blog post for a list of what is still available.

Secondly, I have 4 photos to show you today.

In order to keep it brief, here they are (BTW - I managed to achieve multiple image uploading - never attempted before and still feeling slightly dizzy after it worked first time) -

A not-often seen view of my craft room, showing
that it is not as tidy as may appear in my other WOYWW photos

A close up showing the Parchment magazine that slipped into
my shopping bag this week (I have had a very long secret wish to 'get into' parchment
after working in a shop that stocked Pergamano goodies and watching demo's), some
old-fashioned wooden dolly pegs (a more attractive way of storing ribbon),
some fabric that I found in the bargain bin of our local haberdashery shop, a card
received yesterday as part of a Facebook group swap - and a bag of sweets
(could never resist those classics).

How did that get there?  It is my old and trusty cross stitching
bag - well travelled since 1994.  Must mean that my
'stitchy bug' is back - after an absence of many months.

This is what I am STILL stitching after about a year.
Did the flowers and leaves under 'Yesterday' last night.

  10. Lordy, you've been busy! I'm not a cross stitcher, that definitely is too delicate for me, but I seem to be creeping back to crochet and sewing again. As long as I can be doing something vaguely craft related, I'm happy! I think on balance and after trying loads of others, that the dolly pegs is the best answer for ribbons - hope you enjoy the winding process, a really cathartic way to solve the storage issue!

  22. I know exactly what you mean about being giddy when something happens for the first time that we didn't expect...like all the techy challenges that come our way with blogging! I've been at the other end of the spectrum today...nothing would work as it should. But hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Your desk looks so tidy but also busy. You're obviously having a great creative time in your space!
Thanks for popping over to me for a warm earlier. You're always welcome ;D

  27. Funny how 1. simple technology SCORES make us so happy (and FAILS drive us mad) and 2. we feel compelled to share our mess almost more so than a tidy space. WOYWW is lifting the skirts on the true sate of our spaces. Nice to know I'm not the only one who works in a bit of chaos. My clean room is only, I assure you, temporary :)

  28. I used to dabble a little bit in Pergamano in the past. I’m always amazed at the beautiful things people achieve but it can take forever to do and just one slip and it’s ruined so I’ve not done any for ages.

Nice to see another cross stitcher Ali. I’m working on a sampler at the moment. You can see it if you click on the link to my stitching blog on my side bar.

    Happy Crafting!

  30. Hi there, just a quick visit to see what you are up to. Unfortunately, the EM is unwell and needs looking after so time is limited today. Hope your WOYWW has been happy. Your cross stitch piece is looking lovely. Elizabeth x #55

  31. You seem to have plenty going on there Ali. I hope you do get in to parchment craft, but be warned; it is somewhat frustrating. It is just so slow. We do a whole day class once a month and come away with one unfinished card! Everything has to be several times because the parchment splits if you do it too hard first time around. It is also very tiring for both your hands and your eyes, and on top of all that, you always want just one more tool! It can get pretty costly. I do, however, enjoy my class and have learned the basics in just over a year, but it will never have a major role to play in my craftwork. But don't be put off. Give it a go and see what you think. 33. My gracious, you have a most tidy work desk. Everything was so neatly laid out, and I'm impressed that you got your multiple pictures to do what you wanted. I've been working on that, not quite got it right as yet. Will try to check out your new blog, and I will join as a follower. Will be back to check out your art works, and hope you'll have time to visit me sometime as well. You get a lot done, with all your responsibilities listed in 'about me'. Made me feel quite lazy!!! (well, I am!) TFS

  35. Lots of creativity going on here. I love the fact that no matter how long you've neglected a cross stitch, you can just pick it up and continue without have to spend ages working out where you are (like with knitting).
