WOYWW 160

It is a cloudy and non-summer like day in Pembrokeshire again (although we did have 2 days of sunshine) and TUESDAY.  I am typing this up whilst watching Real Housewives of New York (I love all the RH series - this is an old one, but interesting to see what happened before it all happened), so that when I get up early on Wednesday full of excitement to link up with Julia @ her Stamping Ground I may even get into a higher position on the list of crafty workspaces.

Having my extra table and more organised storage in my craft room is really helping me to create.  My new promise to myself to try and make at least one project each day is so far being kept to.  I have made some more Xmas cards, some general (any occasion) cards, a New Baby card and started on a set of 3 Twinchies for a UK Stampers swap.  This involved Debbi Moore's Metal Magic and stamping into it - which I hadn't done before.  My hubby even came to watch!  By the 3rd attempt I had worked out that I needed to get a thick layer and heat it for longer until it literally slides around on the card.  I really enjoy trying out new things.

My top tip for this week is to make your own Washi Tape.  Get some micro-porous tape from any pharmacy and then just decorate it to suit your project.  I used it on a distress-style card, so coloured it with a Copic and then stamped on with Distress Ink.  Much cheaper and very satisfying.   Take a look at the finished product - Rooster card.

This is my workspace -

Main workspace tidied, but 15 cards laid out (inserts/envelopes/cello bags) waiting for the labels to dry before being boxed up to go to St Lukes Hospice.  I ran out of the usual label sheets to go through the printer, so just printed onto plain paper and then cut out with fancy scissors - I actually preferred them like this.

  4. You have just given me some inspiration - I will start to make one "C" card each day from now on - wonder how long I will remember I have said that? Doh! It is worth a try though and it will get me a fair stash nearer the time instead of that rush and stress that goes with it all.
Thanks for the tip about washi tape - there is also some silk sticking plaster you can buy - that takes inks and stamping well too - just an alternative.
Thanks for sharing - Hugs, Neet #20 xx

  7. What a great setup you have and that idea with the micropore tape, just brilliant and I hate that tape to, coz I am allergic to it, so a good reason to rid the world of it. LOL

Good on you for setting yourself a creating task and keeping to it.

Thanks for sharing and have a happy crafting filled week.

  17. I like the washi tape idea and have been making some along. I also have been making my own bakers twine to match the colors I need. I wrap twine around a pencil (single layer) then take my marker or Copic and draw stripes on it. Thanks for sharing. Vickie #159

  18. Sunshine in Pembrokeshire?? Heavens to Betsy!! Only kidding, I know how glorious it can be down there. A couple of years ago, we went down to St David's and then took a boat trip around Ramsey. The sea was like a mill pond, the sun was shining, it was simply gorgeous!! The only 'interesting' point of that day was seeing The Only Transvestite in the Village in St David's. I don't mind people dressing up in what they are comfy in but that guy needed some fashion tips!!!!
Sorry for waffling, hope you are okn :)
